Cub Scout Pack #179 serves scouts in the Haddon Township and Collingswood, NJ communities.

Our mission is to provide boys and girls  from Kindergarten to 5th grade with opportunities to have fun with other children, while learning the values of Scouting – doing your best and helping others. Our program is designed to engage your child in wholesome activities that allow hands-on participation.

Our Den Meetings occur most Tuesdays from September to March at Haddon Township High School.

Pack #179 is a member of the Garden State Council of New Jersey.

Pack #179 is sponsored by the Van Sciver Elementary School PTA.

Cub Scouting is an inter-faith organization that has a commitment to moral and ethical values. We do not promote any one religion.

Scouting is not an organization that provides a paid service to customers.

We receive guidance and input from our sponsor and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), but the strength of Pack #179 is the adult leaders – family and volunteers.

Volunteers are usually parents who also work, care for their children, and are generally busy – just like you.

Everyone comes together to make the Pack what is is for our boys.

Anyone can take a leadership role such as Cubmaster, Den Leader, Committee member, etc.

If you can’t take an active leadership role, it is easy to support others by returning emails/calls quickly, bring your child to meetings prepared and on-time, or share something about your interests or place of work.

We always welcome fresh ideas! Come see us in action!

In addition to BSA-guided activities, scouts in our Pack also take part in other things, like

  • Miniature golf
  • Fire department open houses
  • Fun run/walk
  • Saddler’s Woods stewardship
  • Police K-9 Unit visit
